We are seeking to recruit an inspirational and creative EYFS class teacher to join our fabulous school on a full-time permanent contract. At Gledhow, we believe that every child deserves the highest quality start to their educational journey. We are seeking a teacher who is dedicated to fostering a love for learning through exploration and meaningful learning experiences. The successful candidate will be focused on building a strong, safe, and stimulating learning environment that captures children's curiosity and supports their emotional and academic growth.

Gledhow is a super school with brilliant pupils, staff, governors, and families. We are a large busy three-form entry school in North Leeds with a wonderfully diverse pupil and colleague community. At Gledhow we strive to make the ordinary extraordinary, by taking the everyday experiences our pupils have and transforming them into amazing opportunities for learning, growth, and personal development. 


This role would suit an enthusiastic and energetic EYFS teacher who is motivated to uphold the school’s vision and values, bringing lessons and learning to life for our children. We are open to applications from experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for a supportive environment to complete their induction. Experience of having taught in EYFS is essential for this role, whether in a previous job or during a teacher training placement. 


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they can: 


  • Plan and deliver adventurous lessons that cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
  • Create an inclusive, safe and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Complete accurate observations and track children's progress.
  • Use assessments to provide tailored support for individual learning needs, including SEND.
  • Collaborate closely with early years teaching assistants and other practitioners.
  • Build positive partnerships with parents and carers.
  • Actively contribute to whole-school life and their own continuous professional development.
