All classes throughout school are named after the colours of the rainbow. Our Year 3 classes are Emerald, Olive , and Malachite.

Class Routines
Year 3 children have a 15-minute morning breaktime at 10:40am. They eat their lunch at 12:00pm –12:30pm and play outside from 12:30pm –1:00pm.
Collection
The Year 3 gate is the Brackenwood entrance which is located on Brackenwood Drive. Gates open 10 minutes before the start time and close promptly at 8:50am. If there are any changes to pick up arrangements, please inform the school office or the class teacher via Class Dojo. Dojo messages will be checked periodically during the school day, staff are unable to respond to messages outside of school hours.
Food and Drink
Children will need their own named water bottle in school. Bottles are returned home at the end of each day to be cleaned. Children may bring a healthy snack (e.g. piece of fruit) to eat at morning break time.

Curriculum Enrichment
We enhance the curriculum in Year 3 with different visitors throughout the year.
In the Autumn term, the children experience a Stone Age workshop delivered by the Discovery Centre. In this workshop the children make a timeline of the Stone Age and study replica artifacts such as Stone Age tools.
Also in the Autumn term, the children will take part in an exotic animals workshop and meet real life animals from the rainforest!
- In April, Year 3 have the amazing opportunity to “camp overnight”. This exciting ‘camping adventure’ is held on school grounds. Children spend time in our woodland area, take part in outdoor team building activities, sit round our campfire and sleep overnight in bell tents.
P.E
Emerald class P.E. days are Monday (indoor) and Wednesday (outdoor).
Olive class P.E. days are Tuesday (indoor) and Wednesday (indoor).
Malachite P.E. days are Thursday (outdoor) and Friday (indoor). Emeraldclass has P.E lessons every Monday (outdoor) and Thursday (indoor)
Please send your child to school in their PE kit-they do not need to bring a change of uniform with them.
Homework
Children will be set activities to complete on Mathletics on a Monday to be completed by the following Monday. These will be linked to our current maths topic.
Throughout the year, children may be asked to complete other activities at home e.g. learning lines for a performance and bringing in recycling for curriculum projects. These will be communicated via the Class Dojo page.
