School Meals Provision

Gledhow school kitchens serve fresh meals cooked by the LCC catering team. Our menus offer high-quality balanced meals. Healthy school lunches improve concentration and learning.

Orders are taken during registration and meals are FREE for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 students, which saves families around £460 per year per child.

School Meals and Packed Lunches

Parents can opt for a packed lunch instead of a school meal for their child.

Requests to switch should only be made at the end of each half-term.

Please pack your child's lunch in a wipeable box and advise them not to share.

For safety reasons, we kindly ask that you avoid including nuts or nut-based items, such as cereal bars, sandwich fillings, or whole nuts in your child's lunch.

If you need assistance with applying, please contact the School Office.

Even if your child receives a Universal Free School Meal (all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2), if you are eligible for Free School Meals, we would encourage you to still apply. The school may receive additional funding and/or support for each child that is eligible.

Food Allergies & Special Diets

Our kitchen team are experienced in catering for specific dietary needs. If you have any concerns relating to food allergies or dietary needs, please contact office@gledhowschool.org or Telephone: 0113 2930392. We can also organise a meeting with Charn Kaur who leads our kitchen team if you have specific concerns.

School Meal Prices

 Meals are charged as follows:

Nursery and Years 3 to 6 - £2.50 per day, £12.50 per week
