Curriculum Enrichment
Curriculum Enhancement
We enhance the curriculum in Year 4 with different experiences throughout the year. The children will be taking part in a skipping workshop, a Roman workshop at School delivered by Murton Park and a religious visit.
Anything else?
Year 4 have the opportunity to experience an overnight residential in beautiful Malham where they will be walking, treasure hunting and discovering waterfalls.
Collection
We have Gledowls places for children who need to arrive earlier/ stay later than the start times stated. Please see https://www.gledhow.leeds.sch.uk/Gledowls-before-and-after-school-club
All three year 4 classes start school at 8:40. Gates open 10 minutes before the start time and close promptly at 8:50. Children must be collected at 3:10. If there are any changes to pick up arrangements please inform the school office or the class teacher via Class Dojo. Dojo messages will be checked periodically during the school day but there is not an expectation for staff to respond to messages outside of school hours.
Homework
Children in Year 4 will have 10 weekly spellings set through EdShed on a Monday. These will also be posted on the class dojo story. The spellings will be tested the following Monday.
Children will also be set activities to complete on Mathletics on a Monday to be completed by the following Monday. These will be linked to our current maths topic.
Throughout the year, children may be asked to complete other activities at home e.g. learning lines for a performance and any other curriculum based projects. These will be communicated via the Class Dojo page.
